EF ... your ideas sound nice but do they help in this situation? Crumpet does not feel valued by her b/f. The fact that Crumpet feels threatened shows me that b/f doesn't make her feel loved. If he does love her, he would want to reasure her of his love and not tell her to shut up.
If she gets on with her life and learns to value herself it won't matter to her if he loves her or not. She has to love herself ... when she is confident in her own value, she will have to decide if b/f is even good enough for her.
Right now she allows him to belittle her ... she is desperate to be loved and accepts this treatment. When she learns to love herself, not he or anyone will be allowed to hurt her. It all boils down to self-esteem. What bothers me is what pleasure can he get from keeping her down.
Crumpet thinks she has jealousy issues. Maybe she does. I think she has bad b/f issues and self-esteem issues.

Be careful not to blame the underhanded woman. She only gets away with what your bf allows her to. That's where you've allowed him to have the upper hand in your life. Take it back!
Go out tonight and PARTY!!!!

My whole point is that if he would make you feel secure (he knows you need this) you could gain self esteem and move on and enjoy your life. Now he has you in a knot wondering what he's up to, which makes you question your worth. The way I see it ... if he won't be part of the solution he is part of the problem. Start having concern for yourself ... join a fun group ... lose weight (for yourself) ... go out with girlfriends and have some laughs. Who knows ... you may find someone who appreciates you for who you are!

Your partner is sick and tired of hearing of it???? Did it ever enter his mind that he could end the problem by reasuring you that you have nothing to worry about? Quit taking all the blame. You don't see him sleeping in the spare room ... because he doesn't see the problem.
He doesn't have to live his life with his arms around you but some emotional support from him would go a long way. When he has convinced you that you have nothing to worry about, you can get on with life and quit worrying.
It's old hat now but ... get councelling. Not for him ... for you!

Buck ... if she is the most important thing to you, try putting her best interests first. She IS one of Jehovah's Witnesses. THAT will always be first in her life. Know this and act accordingly.
If you become an unbaptized publisher ... is it to please Jehovah or to get on her good side?
Being in love is a wonderful feeling. Treasure it. You deserve to be loved by someone who loves you the same way. Maybe she does and is hoping this will be a sign of it. Trouble is, if it is for the wrong reasons ... no one wins!
Don't go along with this to please any person ... that would be missing the importance altogether. Think long and hard and know what you are doing. There could be a very heavy price to pay down the road.

jojo ... been there done that. After many, many tries I've been able to quit smoking. I studied up on it though. Seems some of us have addictive personalities. That's why some people can quit quite easily and others really suffer.
I strongly recommend any help you can get. The patch worked for me. It helps to decrease the terrible mood swings. I used it for three months and then used nicorette gum for nine months, and quit that when the year was up.
It helps if your partner does not smoke around you. Other people smoking around me didn't bother me but for some reason I couldn't stand the sight of my husband smoking. It will soon be four years for me and I can honestly say I never think about smoking anymore. A lot of it is your mindset too and as time goes by (believe it or not) it is of no importance anymore.
Avoid the weight gain by walking or jogging every chance you get and drink LOTS of water when you get back home. It has an endorphin effect.
Wishing you all the best and hang in there!

A question for my UK cousins: What are the different British accents?
by Check_Your_Premises insince i have so many brits and uk types in one place, i was wondering if you all could classify or tell me the names of the different british accents.
i think most in the states could be grouped by region and then each region divided into regular folks and folks with cash.
for instance in thestates, you basically have north east which is can be characterized by your classic new york or boston accents.
